| In much of the country scaling in solar hot water (SHW) systems is a not a problem. However, in certain areas having scale prone water, scaling can cause serious reliability problems in some types of SHW systems. In this web site, the scaling problem in SHW systems is described, the predictive software SOLSCALE can be downloaded and used to identify SHW systems with potential scaling problems, and guidelines for designing SHW systems for scaling environments are given. |

Download SOLSCALE: SOLSCALE is software for identifying if a SHW system may develop a scaling problem, and if so, how severe the problem is likely to be. Additionally, the software contains information on specific system design features that reduce the effect of scaling. |
