Miniaturized Endoscopes for Early Cancer Detection and Treatment:

Specific project: Design, fabrication and characterization of a miniaturized endoscope that combines femtosecond laser micro-surgery (FLMS) with two-photon imaging for early cancer detection and treatment (this probe utilizes optical MEMS scanners and photonic band-gap fibers).


Plasmonic Laser Nanosurgery (PLN):
Nano-structuring based on local field enhancement in the near-field of metal nanoparticles irradiated with femtosecond laser pulses.

Specific project: Demonstrate laser surgery at the nano-scale (about 20-50nm).
