35% Women in 5 Years, 35-in-5

It's time to change the face of ME in America, and what better place to begin that transformation than in Texas? The 35-in-5 mission is to increase the number of women entering UT Austin's ME program to 35% in 5 years. It's an ambitious goal, and we need your help.

Even though we are only in the beginning stages of launching this program, alumni and corporations who have been informed of it are already lining up to help make our vision a reality. Several corporations have already made sizable pledges which will fund a number of scholarships to incoming young women. We are currently in the planning phases of several events to meet with high school teachers, parents and incoming prospective students for 2014 and 2015. Please stay tuned and watch your email for announcements. If you have ideas or want to participate, contact Bliss Angerman. Download our flyer for more information.

Women's Brochure for Prospective Undergraduates

The department has prepared a print brochure, pictured on the right, which will be sent to accepted freshman for fall 2014. It explains the program's advantages and benefits, talks about current research opportunities, and highlights some of the exciting work done by recent alumni and current students. Please download the brochure, and contact Bliss Angerman if you have a need for printed copies for your students, daughters, relatives or friends.
