Clean Energy Technologies (cet) Group

The CET group focuses on fuel cells, rechargeable batteries, electrochemical supercapacitors, solar energy with an emphasis on the development of new materials and advanced nuclear fuel cycles; efficient manufacturing processes; system integration and control; analysis, testing and design of components at both the microscale and system levels; and analysis of off-design and transient behavior.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Clean Energy Technologies Thrust is to:

  • Conduct fundamental research on clean energy technologies that will result in new materials, devices, and modes of operation, and provide the basis for entrepreneurial business creation in Texas
  • Prepare students for careers in clean energy technologies that will ensure continued economic growth in the century ahead
  • Work with industries to evaluate, anticipate,and prepare for emerging trends in the energy marketplace
