This page lists the committees that help organize and enhance the academic, developmental, and advisory aspects of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
EPIC
EPIC stands for Educational Process Improvement Committee. The EPIC Committee is the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation committee of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Texas at Austin. EPIC is comprised of Faculty in the Mechanical Engineering Department who are working together through a number of sub-committees to improve the curricula and processes of education in our Department.
External Advisory Committee
The committee, composed of 18-21 members, meets once each semester for one and a half days to hear reports from faculty and students, to inspect Instructional and lab facilities, and to visit informally with students.
ME Staff Rewards & Recognition Committee
This program was developed as a way to recognize and reward Mechanical Engineering Staff who have performed exceptional work and have shown consistent, dependable and well-executed job performance during the preceding six months.
