Graduate Funding

Dr. Halil Berberoglu and his research team at The Solar Energy and Biofuels Laboratory (SEBL) are studying algae as a possible source of biofuel.
Every admitted student is reviewed and ranked for financial support. No additional application is required.
Financial support falls into the following categories:
- Graduate School Fellowships
- CSE (Cockrell School of Engineering) Fellowships (available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents only)
- Graduate Assistantship: Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant
The vast majority of our students with financial support receive it through a graduate assistantship. Assistantships come with a monthly stipend (salary), tuition and fee assistance, out-of-state tuition waiver (for out of state or international students with a 20+/week appointment) and health insurance. Most appointments are for nine months. Summer support is not a guarantee. - Outside scholarships and fellowships:
Please note: Admission to our graduate program does not guarantee you an offer of financial support.
