- Applications are reviewed by an admissions committee of ME/ORIE faculty. With over 800 applicants, our admissions process takes time, so please be patient. We will do our best to communicate with you regularly on the status of your application.
- Once your application is complete with GIAC and with departmental materials, it is sent to the review committee. The following criteria are used in considering applicants for admission. Each of these factors are considered equally during the review process:
- Test Scores (GRE and TOEFL)
- GPA (Upper division undergraduate and Graduate GPA)
- Quality of prior institutions attended
- Experience (Based on your resume)
- Letters of recommendation
- Statements of Purpose
- Admissions decisions are usually made October through mid-November for Spring admission and February through mid-April for Summer/Fall admission. Your official decision letter will come from the Graduate and International Admissions Center.
- If you are recommended for an offer of support, you will receive a separate offer letter from the department and/or the Cockrell School of Engineering. Offer letters usually go out within a month of your admission.
