Multimedia Resource Center


The Mechanical Engineering Department Multimedia Resource Center provides multimedia support to all persons associated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday (closed Staff Holidays). Multimedia support includes equipment check-out, equipment repair, equipment upgrades, end-user training, and immediate response to end-user needs.

The Multimedia Resource Center is located on the southeast corner of the third floor of the ETC in room 3.116. The phone number is 512-471-9657, and our email address is projectr@me.utexas.edu.

Training is provided upon request for any piece of equipment we rent or maintain as well as for any room in the building with multimedia hardware. To schedule training, please contact us. If you would like to be trained on a piece of rental equipment immediately before you check it out, please allow an extra half hour before you check-out time. This service is available to anyone.

Equipment
We maintain Multimedia Equipment for checkout to ME students, faculty, and staff. All Equipment available by reservation only. Computer equipment comes with Windows XP, Office 2003, Winamp, Windows Media Player, Adobe Acrobat, and Real Player. If you need other software, please specify on the reserve form.

Classrooms
We have several Multimedia Classrooms in the ETC building with permanent projection equipment that can be reserved by members of the ME community. (A UTEID is required to search the room listing)

Services

  • Plasma TV in the T-Room - We have a 42 inch plasma TV in the T-Room that is used to display programming for academic related functions.
  • Portrait Photography - We will take portrait pictures of faculty and students for use in official UT business.
  • PowerPoint Templates - We have several Microsoft PowerPoint Templates available for you to download and use in your presentations.
  • Scanning Services - We provide limited Document to PDF services as well as some other simple scanning services.
