This section was created for students, faculty and staff to easily find resources on how to use the variety of programs used in the Department. If you find any resources that may be helpful to others, please feel free to e-mail the Help Desk.
Students can checkout books/manuals from the METER. Leave a valid UT ID with the proctor on duty to borrow the item. Your ID will be returned when you turn in the book/manual.

HPC Tutorials:
- Linux Documentation Project: includes links to tutorials, manuals, and a wealth of information.
- Batch/Background Jobs: Learn how to run your programs in the background so you may log out from the worksation without killing them.
- SSH Agent: Set up a passwordless SSH login between each of the HPC machines.
- CYGWIN Guide: How to allow HPC applications to be displayed on your Windows computer, and install many great Linux programs on your Windows box.
