ME Undergraduate Program Courses
The faculty has approval to offer these courses in the academic years 2006-2008; however, not all courses are taught each
semester or summer session. Students should consult the Course Schedule to determine which courses and topics will be offered
during a particular semester or summer session. The Course Schedule may also reflect changes made to the course inventory
after the publication of this catalog.
Unless otherwise stated, each course meets for three lecture hours a week for one semester.
Major Sequence Courses are typically taken after the third semester of the program. In order to take these courses, you must apply for and be accepted into major sequence.
Electives
All ME students choose elective courses in addition to their Mechanical Engineering courses. You will take courses that fulfill your Career Gateway Electives, as well as electives from Fine Arts / Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics, and/or Natural Sciences.
The Career Gateway requirement offers a student the flexibility to choose courses that will give them insight into specific areas that make up ME, or fulfill special needs in preparation for medical/dental school, law school, or graduate school. It can also be fulfilled using the Business Foundations Certificate.
Students are also required to take 3 credits in each of the following:
