Welcome!

For 14 of the last 34 years, I have been Coordinator of the Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Program (OR/IE) at UT-Austin. I am currently Graduate Advisor for the OR/IE which has 6 faculty and about 50 full time graduate students (about 33 MS & 17 PhD).

As you will see, my teaching and research interests have been quite diverse. In the last 2 decades, I have become a leader in developing the theory of direct search methods and applying tabu search to problems in production scheduling, vehicle routing and military logistics.
