This program is a well-rounded education for professional managers of manufacturing technology. For the manufacturing engineer, it is an opportunity to understand labor and management issues in the design of the manufacturing complex. For the manufacturing manager, it is an opportunity to develop an appreciation of world-class manufacturing technology.
A student in the Joint MSE/MBA Program must complete a minimum of 72 semester hours. Areas of specialization include design for manufacturing, manufacturing automation and assembly, electronic packaging manufacturing, integrated circuit manufacturing, and advanced materials manufacturing.
Students seeking admission must apply to both the University's Office of Admissions and to the Graduate School of Business, and be accepted by both the College of Engineering Manufacturing Systems Engineering Program and the Graduate School of Business before being accepted into the Joint MSE/MBA Program. Students can be admitted for either Fall or Spring semesters.
Advising will be handled by the Graduate Advisor for the Joint MSE/MBA Program. The Graduate Advisor will act as liaison between the two colleges in helping the student satisfy the requirements of the two programs.

Upon entering graduate school, the Master of Science in Engineering degree candidate selects one of three options. All students seeking the master's degree are expected to write a thesis; however, the option of a master's degree with a report and the no thesis/no report option are also available by petition.

Degree Requirements
Students are responsible for completion of work in both degree programs.
Required core courses are listed below. A block of designated and free
electives from one of five technical areas listed in the Manufacturing Systems
Engineering brochure are also required. With the approval of the Chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee
or the Graduate Advisor, other courses may be counted toward fulfillment of the
technical area course requirements.
