Postdoc in Two-Phase Microfluidics

This is a 1 to 2 year position in the area of two-phase microfluidics. The work is aimed at the development and characterization of a high throughput impact based micromixer. Previous DRIE microfabrication and soft lithography experience a must. Previous microfluidics experience a plus. See Microfluidics research for reference.

Please contact Dr. Hidrovo with a resume/CV and a list of 1-2 references.

M.S./Ph.D. in Confined Droplet Impact Dynamics
(Current or Admitted UT Austin Students Only)

This project is aimed at the fundamental understanding of high speed (~ 1-10 m/s) droplet impact dynamics in confined microchannels. The research is primarily experimental in nature, but with a strong component of analytical modeling. This work is an integral part in the development of a pneumatic based high impact coalescence micromixer. See Microfluidics research for reference.

Please contact Dr. Hidrovo with a resume/CV and stating current status and affiliation at UT Austin.

M.S./Ph.D. in Superhydrophobic Surfaces and Flow Interactions
(Current or Admitted UT Austin Students Preferred)

This project is aimed at the fundamental understanding of the interactions between superhydrophobic surfaces and liquid (both single and multiphase) flows. The research is primarily experimental in nature, but with a strong component of analytical modeling. This work is relevant to applications in drag reduction and liquid water management in PEM fuel cells. See Drag Reduction and Energy Systems research for reference.

Please contact Dr. Hidrovo with a resume/CV and stating current status and affiliation at UT Austin.
