Abstract:  Sabre has a long history of developing OR based decision support tools for the travel and transportation industry. In 1995, Sabre formed the Sabre Research Group with the goal to better utilize its OR resources in the effort to maintain the company’s technological leadership. In this talk we give an overview over the OR work done in the Sabre Research Group. In the first part of the presentation, we describe briefly the role of the research group in the company and its interaction with other Sabre groups. The second part of the presentation gives an overview over recent research projects. In this context, we discuss in more detail the evolution of airline Fleet Assignment Models, and the development of a new Airline Schedule Generation tool and developments. Finally, we turn to the current hot topics in flight scheduling, namely robust planning and integration.
