General Information
You are cordially invited
to the first general meeting of the Austin Chapter of INFORMS. During February
and March we held successful organizational/social meetings to guage interest
in the formation of our chapter and to elect our first officers. The purpose
of the May meeting is to facilitate networking within the Austin OR/MS
community and to provide Austin's OR/MS professionals and students with
the opportunity to join this chapter.
During this meeting
we will invite each person to give an introduction and to briefly describe
his or her place in the Austin OR/MS community. We're interested in your
work, research, and scholarship. We believe that there are many potential
benefits to all of us in networking with each other. Future general meetings
may include presentations by invited speakers or purely social affairs.
We may also offer professional and educational opportunities to our members
in the future.
Parking
Use visitor's parking.
Although a guard is present, the door to the Hancock Bldg will be open
ONLY from 1800-1830. (LCRA policy permits a 30 minute arrival time). Please
notify us if you plan to arrive late so that we can meet you.
Post-Meeting
Following our general
meeting we invite everyone to join us for dinner at the Hula Hut restaurant
across the street. Meals there typically fall in the $7 - $10 range. We
will make a reservation at the beginning of our general meeting.
