Subunit Markov Analysis
 - Start/Finish

The Start command creates a worksheet that is shown below. The worksheet has buttons to create the various model types provided by the Markov Analysis add-in as well as models from the other add-ins in the Markov Process collection, specifically the Markov Models and Markov Decision Process add-ins. The appropriate add-ins must be installed for the buttons to work.

A second, a perhaps more important purpose of the add-in regards buttons, user-defined functions, and links. The add-ins place a variety of control buttons on worksheets. Also some worksheets use user-defined functions (functions written by the author and embedded in the add-in code).

The buttons and functions are linked to the computer and the add-in file that created them. This causes error messages regarding links when a workbook created on one computer is opened on another. The Start command creates all buttons or functions necessary for the worksheets in the workbook. If a workbook containing Markov worksheets is opened and a message regarding links appears, simply cancel the message. Use the Start command to make new buttons and functions with the correct links.

When the buttons and functions are deleted with the Finish command, they are easily replaced with the Start command.

It is good practice to always delete buttons and functions that will engender error messages if a workbook is to be opened on another computer. Use the Finish command prior to closing a workbook to delete all buttons and user-defined functions. Note that the buttons are deleted from all worksheets created by an add-in in the Markov collection.
