Welcome to the web page for ME353 for the fall semester of 2002. I will modify
these pages frequently to allow you to study the course material presented in
class, review homework and exam keys and obtain other class related information.
Watch this page for announcements.
- Final Grades: Grading
is complete on the final exam. The average score was 80.3. Your grades have
been delivered to the undergraduate office. They should be available on the
web by the weekend. The key to the exam is in the display case outside my
office. You may pick up your exam in ETC 5.128. The office is closed on Dec.
19. It will be open on Dec. 20 until 11:15 am. It will then be closed until
Jan. 2, 2003. If you want to challenge the grading, please write a brief note
and attach it to the front of the exam. Leave the exam and note in my mailbox.
- Final Exam: The
final exam is on Saturday, Dec. 14, 9 - 12 noon. I have no power to change
this, so please make plans to attend. The exam is in two different rooms.
Students in 17240, 17245 and 17250 (Wed. Angela, Wed. Burak, Mon. John) go
to Taylor 2.006. Students in 17255, 17260 and 17265 (Mon. Angela, Mon. Burak,
Tues. John) go to ECJ 1.202. You may bring one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper with
formulas. Use both sides.
- Special Arrangements for Final Exam:
If you are a student with an officially recognized disability
that allows more time on the final exam, please make arrangements with the
Dean of Students Office for a proctored final exam. I would prefer that the
exam be taken on Dec. 14. Do this early enough so I can deliver the exams
to the DSO.
- Lost regrades for Exam 1:
Several students had exam 1 regraded and received extra points. Unfortunately,
the regraded scores were lost. If you received extra points on exam 1, please
show your exam to Dr. Jensen so you receive credit for the extra points.
- Exam 2: The
average for Exam 2 was about 80. If you haven't picked up your graded exam
it is with the secretary in ETC5.128. Exams turned in for regrading will be
available when they are graded.
- Problem 2 on Exam 2: The grader
was a little harsh when grading this problem. If you would like to have it
regraded, return it to a TA or Dr. Jensen by Dec. 5. Put a note on the front
of the exam that says you would like to have it regraded.
- Sample Final: The last week
in the discussion sessions the TA's will use a sample final. They will have
copies in the discussion sections and I will bring copies to the lecture.

at the left for more discussion. The report should include a summary statement
on your opinions regarding the company and how you feel about the value of
an investment in the company's stock. Please prepare the report neatly. Click
here to see a list of ratios
prepared by the students. Not all are correct. Compare the average to your
