RA, TA, or Postdoctoral Research Inquiries
- updated
August 25, 2008
It is very unusual that I respond to e-mail inquiries about graduate
research assistant (RA), teaching assistant (TA), or postdoctoral
researcher positions, except if the individual: a) is already a
student at UT-Austin, or b) will be visiting the UT campus.
I can/will not provide any assessment of an individual's chances
for acceptance into our graduate program, or chances of gaining
financial support at UT-Austin.
Unless noted below, I do not have openings for RAs or postdoctoral
researchers at this time.
Teaching Assistant Positions
The only course I teach that has teaching assistant support is:
ME 144L Dynamic Systems
and Controls Laboratory
TA positions for ME 144L are highly competitive, and there are
typically four positions per long semester. These positions are
typically filled by the ME department administration based on recruitment
commitments. If any positions remain open, I will select at least
one 'veteran' TA who has experience with the equipment and specific
laboratories offered in this course.
If you are interested in being considered for any possible TA opening
that might arise in 144L, you should submit your application to
Cindy Raman in ETC 5.134. I will not interview any candidate unless
an opening exists, and you will be contacted if you are to be considered
for such an opportunity.
Research Opportunities
- Undergraduate research assistantships - none
available at this time
- Graduate research assistantships - there are
2 possible GRA positions that require US Citizenship.
If you are an ME or ECE graduate student with background/interest
in complex system simulation, electromechanics, vehicle systems
modeling, controls, or other related areas, please send me your
resume that lists specific relevant background.
- Postdoctoral positions - none available at
this time
