Iman Salafian, 2nd year Ph.D. candidate in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, won two awards in the recent Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition. 

His startup Trinity Tube was awarded the Technology Commercialization Award with a $10,000 prize. Trinity Tube is a medical device designed to care for preterm infants and monitor various health statuses such as heart rate, temperature and more. Salafian was also selected as a top three presenter in the E. Craig Nemec Elevator Challenge, a two-minute pitch competition with a $1,000 prize. 

In addition to working on his Ph.D., Salafian is also the project manager for the EcoCAR EV Challenge at UT Austin.
