Assistant professor receives prestigious award from the National Institutes of Health.
Elena Zannoni has been awarded an NIH R21 Trailblazer Award from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). This grant will support Zannoni's lab TRAIL and their work in developing an adaptive and reconfigurable Robot-Assisted SPECT imaging system. By integrating collaborative robotic manipulators with high-resolution nuclear imaging, they aim to move beyond the constraints of stationary gantries. She will also be working alongside Drs. Farshid Alambeigi at Texas Robotics and Matteo Novello at Stanford University School of Medicine.
The Trailblazer R21 Award is an opportunity for New and Early Stage Investigators to pursue research programs of high interest to the NIBIB at the interface of the life sciences with engineering and the physical sciences. Learn more about the award.
