Assistant Professor Guihua Yu in the Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Austin has been awarded the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award. Yu is one of 30 recipients from 147 applicants submitted from over 80 universities. These awards seed research funds by junior faculty at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) member institutions. The awards are intended to enrich the research and professional growth of promising young faculty and result in new funding opportunities.
This young faculty award will help Dr. Yu's research effort towards creative synthesis and fundamental understanding of novel nanostructured conducting polymers for promising energy-related applications: from high-energy lithium-ion batteries to flexible power devices.
