Each semester, the staff of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) asks students to nominate faculty and staff members who positively contribute to their academic endeavors at the University. This year, Billy Wood was nominated for the award. SSD has presented Mr. Wood with a commemorative clock as a token of their appreciation for all of his efforts.

The Nomination

Faculty must be nominated by a student for this award. In the nomination, the student said:

He went out of his way to make sure my needs were met and to ensure that my confidentiality was protected. He is my favorite teacher to date and deserves to be recognized for his outstanding work.

Billy Wood received this clock in appreciation of his support of students with disabilities.

The Award

From the SSD website: Faculty and staff play an integral part in making sure that students receive their accommodations, and every semester there are faculty and staff that go above and beyond the call of duty to help students with disabilities. To recognize these outstanding members of The University of Texas at Austin community, SSD students nominate faculty and staff who have made a significant contribution to their lives as students at the University of Texas. As a token of appreciation, SSD delivers a gift of thanks to nominees at the end of each semester. If you have had a great experience with a faculty or staff member, please let us know and we will do our best to show them our thanks.
