Texas Exes recently held a 50th reunion for UT graduates from 1960. Five ME alumni were in attendance, and went on a tour of the department while here. The five alumni in attendance were Ronnie Boyd, Preston Carroll, Garland Bauch, Dolph Crawley, and Jay Lewallen. Each of these men graduated from UT in 1960 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering and have supported the department for many years. Professor Phil Schmidt, Danny Jares and Don Artieschoufsky gave the alumni a sneak peak at the Foster Machine Collection and a tour of the shop. Wendy Anderson, from the Cockrell School Development office, accompanied the group on the ME tour.
Ronnie Boyd
After receiving his B.S., Mr. Boyd received an MBA from UT the next year. Mr. Boyd currently lives in Houston, Texas and is the CEO and owner of Ronnie Boyd & Associates. His company is involved in recruiting, primarily engineers and manufacturers in the process industries, such as oil, gas and petrochemicals.

Preston Carroll
Mr. Carroll lives in The Woodlands, Texas. He is currently retired, and previously worked as a Senior Project Engineer for Shell Oil.
Garland Bauch
Mr. Bauch lives in Nassau Bay, Texas. A year following his completion of his Bachelor's degree, he receive a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, also from UT. He later earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston. He is currently employed at NASA's Johnson Space Center as a Systems Engineering and Integration and Aerospace Engineer.
Dolph Crawley
1960 alumni gather together to reminisce with old friends and visit their alma mater.

Mr. Crawley currently resides in Arlington, Texas. He is retired from his position as Design Engineer and Manager of Cutter Design at Baker Hughes, Inc. (formerly Baker Hughes Mining Tools). During his time working at Baker Hughes, Mr. Crawley patented two inventions related to his field.
Jay Lewallen
Mr. Lewallen was born in Austin, Texas in 1937. After receiving his Bachelor's degree, he also received a Master's and Ph.D. from UT. He worked at NASA on the Apollo Program. He later worked as a Vice President at the Southwest Research Institute, retiring in 1999.
