Dr. Steven Biegalski
The first Texas Atomic Film Festival (TAFF) will be held on Thursday May 7, 2009 in ACES 2.404A from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Ten short films, three to five minutes each, will be shown and evaluated by a panel of four judges. The TAFF films are the products of students enrolled in ME 361E Nuclear Reactor Engineering and ME 388C Nuclear Power Engineering. The films are produced by students from the The University of Texas at Austin as well as distance learning students from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Dr. Steven Biegalski is the professor for these courses and will be moderating the TAFF. Juan Garcia from the Faculty Innovation Center has assisted with the organization of this project and he played a significant role in providing the infrastructure for students to complete this project. The goal of the TAFF is to have students communicate technical subjects to their peers utilizing digital movie content.
