Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Candidates should have an interest and expertise in the general area of energy, with specific interest in solar energy, biofuels, or energy storage. The position requires a Ph.D. degree in mechanical, chemical, or materials science and engineering, or a related field. The candidate should possess strong experimental and/or theoretical/computational expertise with a desire to build a world class research and education program. The successful candidate will interact with faculty in the Mechanical Engineering Department, and will be expected to collaborate with faculty in other departments with interests in renewable/sustainable energy areas. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate students, develop a strongly funded research program, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
